Lee Road Parent Teacher Association

We would like to take this opportunity to welcome each of you and your families to the Lee Road Elementary School. As the PTA Co-Presidents one of our responsibilities is to encourage you to get involved with the school. Since this may be the first time at Lee Road for many of you, we think that it is important to explain what the Lee Road PTA is all about.

The Lee Road School PTA's mission is to promote open communication and understanding between parents and staff of the Lee Road Elementary School for the benefit of our children.

We do many wonderful things as a PTA, such as, we provide many Cultural Arts assemblies for the students to either participate in or just enjoy. We support the Holiday Boutique that provides small gifts for the children to purchase for loved ones at holiday time. We sponsor the Scholastic Book Fair, Field Day T-Shirts, Community Service, and School Beautification. In addition, we are continuously involved in district level committees - DEAR Time (Drop Everything And Read), LEADD - Levittown Educators against Destructive Decisions, PARP, Reflections, SEPTA , Get-A-Voice and many more! We also do many other things. But as you can imagine, meeting all of the goals that we have, requires your ACTIVE participation.

This is where YOU come in. Volunteering doesn't mean a huge time commitment. The PTA welcomes all levels of commitment whether you give an hour of your time or three hours. Your time is greatly appreciated and accepted because without you our PTA would not be strong and successful. ANY time that ANY individual is willing to offer is more valuable than we can relate!

But that's not the only reason to become active. It is evident that parent's involvement leads to a more productive student body, which translates into a higher education in the future. When parents get involved in their children's education, grades go up, test scores go up, children become more likely to pass and to attend better schools after high school, they have fewer discipline problems, and they're less likely to use drugs and alcohol.

Won't you join us? Becoming active is really easy - and it really makes a difference! There are several committees that still need volunteers! Our membership form is available on this website. Whatever your time schedule and interests are, we have need of you. We have tasks that can be performed in the evenings, during the day, or that don't even involve coming to the school at all.

We are also celebrating this school year, 2008 - 2009, Lee Road's 50th Anniversary!! We have many memorable events planned for this year all with this important Anniversary as our "theme". We hope your children enjoyed the 50th Anniversary T-Shirts given to them the first week of school which coincides with our beautiful banner hanging outside on the school wall for all to be proud of!

What a great turnout we received for our first PTA meeting held on Monday, September 22. Please join us again each month to learn important information about your child's school.

If you have any questions please feel free to call us or email us.

Committee Descriptions

Many volunteers are needed to help out in countless ways on several of the committees; some may require a little time and others may require more of a commitment. Your involvement in any of these committees is vital to the success of our PTA. Look over the committees and if you are interested, you can sign up on the sheets provided at the PTA meetings or contact someone on the Executive Board.
