It's amazing to me how quickly the warm weather says goodbye and the cold weather says hello. It is equally amazing to me how quickly the school year comes and goes. With this being said I would like to give you an update on how the Wisdom Lane PTA has been working for our students and their families

Back to School Night was a great success and it was a pleasure meeting all of you as you stopped by the cafeteria for a quick snack, hopefully you all had a chance to sample the cookies made from the cookie dough we sold in our fall fundraiser. The response to the fundraiser was very good and I hope you all enjoy baking the cookies, brownies and pretzels with your families.

Many of you bought Wisdom Tee Shirts and Magnets and have shown your support of the school and PTA by purchasing a PTA Membership. While we know everyone who joins PTA will not be able to attend every meeting, your membership still helps. The PTA membership is a yearly membership and you can join anytime during the year. The monies collected thus far have helped fund our budget, allowing us to provide several Cultural Arts Programs, like Camfel Multi-media production called TRUST ME on October 28th. A high energy, three screened movie with scenarios and music featuring youth. Program is motivational and educational-- addressing character education, violence/bully prevention and alcohol, tobacco and other drug use prevention education, with a focused theme on values of trust and being responsible for ones own actions, and provide the DJ for the first dance of the year.

Our annual school picture day was on September 19th, with re-take day on October 30th. A new photography company was used this year, Irvin Simon. They used state of the art digital photography to ensure a better quality photo, simpler photo packages and compatible prices. I heard wonderful things from the volunteers and many parents regarding the quality of the photos.

I encourage all families to go to the Levittown Schools web site and sign up for list-serve. This is one means of notifying families of issues that concern our students and our school district. If you are a paid Wisdom Lane PTA member and have given your email address, I will also send out informational emails that I hope are of interest and helpful.
