On Saturday, March 2nd, the Division Avenue Varsity Cheerleaders, coached by Cristen Marcy and Liz Lynch, won the 2024 New York State Cheerleading Championship held in Binghamton, NY. Representing Section VIII in Class B, the team competed against nine other teams from all over New York in two rounds of competition. The Dragons advanced through the semi-final round, and Division was one of five remaining teams that had the chance at being crowned the champions. After a flawless routine and a fulfilled promise to each other to "leave everything on the mat" the Dragons emerged the victors. This is a first for the program and is the final competition for seniors Nikole Galgano, Eva Guerra, Jenna Hansen, Sarah Martins, Danika Prokay, and Tara O'Regan.
