During the month of November, 5th grade students at Gardiners Avenue participated in a fun-filled unit learning about the history of the Macy's Day Parade! First, students read the story "Balloons Over Broadway" written by Melissa Sweet. Then students were given a STEM challenge to create their very own balloons to fly. Their mission was to create a balloon, using the provided supplies, to make their balloon "fly" in our parade. The students enjoyed parading their balloons through the school for all to see!
