The older students selected picture books and paired up with first graders, fostering a warm and supportive atmosphere. As they read aloud, the fifth graders not only honed in on their reading skills, but also engaged the younger students with animated storytelling. By modeling fluency through expressive intonation and pacing, the fifth graders provided valuable examples for the first graders, helping them understand the rhythm and flow of reading. This heartwarming exchange not only strengthened the bond between the two grades, but also ignited a passion for reading in the first graders, showcasing the power of collaboration and the joy that books can bring to all students. #Booklove
