Balance Is Key During Gymnastics Unit At Gardiners Avenue

January 24, 2025

A careful combination of climbing, rolling and balancing were the key skills utilized by students throughout Gardiners Avenue Elementary School as they took on the gymnastics unit in their physical education classes.

The excitement in the gymnasium was palpable as students walked in to see ropes, balance beams and a jumping launch pad, signifying a fun adventure ahead. In groups, they worked together to make sure they followed the correct safety procedures on each piece of equipment. On gymnastics rings and a rope-swing station, students hoisted themselves up, while another station had students tumbling on mats or launching themselves off a springboard. The high-flying routines of professional gymnasts were a major inspiration for students to further hone their gymnastics skills.
