Levittown School District Holiday Adopt A Family Program
With the holiday season approaching, we have initiated year 16 of the Holiday Adopt-A-Family Program for the children (and possibly members of their families) of the Levittown School District . We appreciated your participation in this program and hope you will consider joining us this year. Last year along with the Board of Education, PTSA, members of the Levittown School District Staff and various community groups, we were able to "adopt" 190 students/family members.
It would be helpful if anyone wishing to adopt a student or family for the 2024 holiday season gave their name, email address and a phone number to us before November 12th (earlier is better) . It's also helpful to know what your budget is so we can assign an adoptee accordingly. Some of you (esp. clubs & teams) have asked for a "specific type of adoptee" ...ie: gender, age. If this applies to you, please understand we try our best to please everyone but that's not always possible. The earlier you sign up to participate, the better chance there is that we can fulfill your request. Beginning in the middle of November and into December, you should receive information on the student or family that you have been assigned to. Items should be in a gift bag or box . We are asking you not to wrap gifts this year. Please put each adoptees unwrapped gifts in a large plastic bag with the assigned number clearly written on the outside of the bag. The ID# is found on the informational form you will receive. We will have no way of knowing whose bag belongs to whom if unmarked! If you would like (and it would surely be appreciated), please add a roll of wrapping paper and tape inside the bag.
Please remember the names of the "ADOPTER" as well as the "ADOPTEE" are kept anonymous. If you wish to include a holiday card, please sign it...." a friend". Gift receipts are greatly appreciated so items that do not fit properly can be exchanged. If you include a gift card, please put that in an envelope and then a gift box too. All gifts must be delivered to the security guard located in the Main Lobby of Levittown Memorial no later than 3pm on Thursday, December 12th. The Security Guard is there between the hours of 7:30 am - 4 pm.
We will not be having our night of wrapping... we know so many of you love to attend this but feel we cannot safely accommodate all the helpers at one time. We will certainly miss seeing your smiling faces, but hope you understand. our goal is helping our community while keeping us all as safe as we can.
Anyone who would like to get involved and cannot adopt a student/family can purchase gift cards for any amount from any of the local stores, such as Target, Kohl's, Walmart, any supermarket or any other store you frequent. No amount is too small. Please email Esta regarding your interest in purchasing gift cards.
If you prefer to adopt a student or family as a group, please feel free to get your family, friends or co-workers involved in this rewarding endeavor. In addition, if you coach or are involved in a community group (i.e.: scouting, sports teams, mah jong groups), please consider participating as a means of community service. We appreciate all your assistance and wish you all the best for the holiday season.
