Division Avenue High School Varsity Cheerleading Coach, Liz Lynch, was selected by the Nassau County Cheerleading Coaches Association as the 2024 Assistant Coach of the Year. Ms. Lynch currently teaches 7th grade English at Wisdom Lane Middle and was a Division Avenue Varsity cheerleader herself. She began her coaching career at Division in 2002. Ms. Lynch and head coach, Cristen Marcy, witnessed NYSPHSAA's recognition of competitive cheerleading as an interscholastic sport in 2015, and the pair has been coaching together for 9 years. This distinguished coaching honor follows on the heels of the program's first ever Nassau County and New York State Championship titles.
