Generals Ignite STEM At Princeton

February 29, 2024

Generals Ignite STEM At Princeton - image001On Saturday February 24th, six MacArthur Generals: Emily Cavanaugh, Sara Duda, Cody Lin, Ramon Martinez, Catherine Purirojejananon, and Beshoy Takla, participated in the IgniteSTEM Challenge at Princeton University. Students were given a variety of prompts relating to specific world problems and were tasked to make a new technology in order to combat these issues. For each prompt, the students were given 45 minutes to brainstorm, group, and design the new technology; however, the internet was off limits. At the end of the day, the students presented one of the technologies developed during the day to Princeton professors. In addition to participating in this challenge, students were given the opportunity to listen to guest speaker, Professor Chris MacPherson, and were also given a campus tour. This opportunity not only allowed the students to meet others with similar interests, but also challenged them to be creative and innovative.
