Students in Mrs. Farley's first grade class enjoyed a tasty treat while learning about the importance of voting and Election Day. After reading several books about election day and having class discussions, students had the opportunity to vote. First, students conducted a taste test of Chocolate Chip and Oreo cookies. Then, students voted for their favorite by submitting a secret ballot. It was a close race! Oreo won by one vote! Finally students recorded the data using tally marks, by making a bar graph, and answering questions. What a delicious way to learn about the voting process!
