Dear Parents and Guardians:

I hope this letter finds you well and that you have enjoyed a restful and rejuvenating summer. As we gear up for the start of a new school year, I am filled with excitement and anticipation for the wonderful experiences and learning opportunities that lie ahead.

For those of you who have children returning to our schools this September and for those of you joining our community for the first time, we wish your families the best possible school year.

The 2023-2024 school year was particularly successful for our district. Both Division Avenue High School and MacArthur High School were named "Best High Schools" by US News & World Report. Our district was also recognized as a "Best Community for Music Education," and a recent graduate was named a Rhodes Scholar. These are just a few of the many accolades our students and faculty garnered throughout the year, illustrating the wonderful opportunities provided through our schools and serving as a testament to #SuccessatLPS.

We are also excited to welcome the newest member of our Central Office administrative team, Ms. Jaclyn Guidice, Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources. She comes to us from the North Merrick School District, where she served as the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum, Instruction & Personnel. Ms. Guidice previously spent several years in Levittown as the Assistant Principal at Division Avenue High School. We are thrilled to welcome her back home!

We are grateful for the opportunity to work with your children and look forward to a productive and enjoyable school year. Together, we can make this year a memorable and successful one for all students.

Fall 2023

Dear Parents and Guardians:

It is my hope that this summer was filled with friends and family and afforded our students plenty of time for self-directed learning and adventure. The summer is a wonderful time for growth and development outside of a traditional school setting, and we are proud of the summer programs available to students in the Levittown School District.

We have had a busy summer hosting Camp Invention, Middle School STEM, SCOPE Enrichment, Summer Music, as well as our Marine Biology and Adventures in Local History Camps. This year we were also excited to launch our first ever Summer College Tour Camp in July. Additionally, the Summer Jumpstart Program, Extended School Year Program, Drivers Education, and an ELA and Math Boot Camp program for middle school students rounded out our offerings.

For those of you who have children returning to our schools this September and for those of you joining our community for the first time, we wish your families the best possible school year. We remain committed to our mission statement "Success for Every Student" and hope that during the course of the year you remain convinced that this is an amazing school district. Our focus continues to be on the needs of all of our students. Whether our students seek to pursue post-secondary education, choose to enter the workforce on a particular career path, or decide to join the military service to defend our nation, we will continue to do everything we can to support their goals and dreams.

We look forward to building on the strong foundation we have here in Levittown and expect to showcase some additional enhancements as the year progresses. The best is yet to come.

Dear Parents and Guardians,

It is with great enthusiasm and pride that I assume the role of Superintendent of Schools. Having started my career as a social studies teacher at Division Avenue High School in 1995, it is truly an honor to be selected to lead the district I have called home for most of my professional career. With 27 years of experience as a public educator, I am eager to build upon the work of my predecessors to continue moving the district forward. I would also like to sincerely thank the many community members who have reached out with congratulatory messages.

In addition, please join me in welcoming the two newest members of Central Office: Dr. Beth Zirogiannis, Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction, and Mr. Michael Fabiano, Assistant Superintendent for Business and Finance. They bring with them many years of experience, exciting ideas, and a fresh perspective. In becoming part of the team with Debbie Rifkin, our Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources, I do believe we are in an excellent position to enhance the opportunities we provide Levittown students.

Our district has always prided itself on ensuring "Success for Every Student." We will continue to do that by focusing on the needs of all of our students. Whether they seek to pursue post-secondary education, select to enter the workforce on a particular career path, or decide to join the military service to defend our nation, we will do everything we can to support their goals and dreams. As part of that process, please look out for several surveys that will allow us to collect feedback from students and parents, as we plan for the future of our school district.

I hope you enjoy the remaining weeks of the summer. I look forward to serving you, your family, and the entire community. Most importantly, I wish your children much success in the upcoming school year.

Having been with the Levittown School District since 1995, it is truly an honor to be chosen to lead our school district in the years ahead. We have experienced challenging times over the last few years, but by working together as a school community I believe we have continued our long tradition of preparing our children for success and happiness as productive citizens of this great nation. I look forward to continuing the progress our district has made, always focusing on ensuring true success for every student.

I hope you get a chance this summer to relax and reconnect with family and friends as we prepare the schools for the 2022-2023 school year.
