School Spirit Shines at Division Avenue Homecoming
The Division Avenue High School community came together on Oct. 17 for a spirited Homecoming celebration that brought students, families, alumni and community members together for a day filled with tradition, school pride and excitement.
The festivities began with the annual Homecoming parade, as students and staff, joined by Levittown administrators, Board of Education members and the Wisdom Lane Middle School marching band, made their way down Hempstead Turnpike to the high school campus.
Before kickoff, members of the Class of 2027 varsity football, cheerleading and kickline teams, along with the marching band, were recognized during a special pregame ceremony. Joined by their families, the seniors were honored for their dedication, leadership and contributions throughout their years of involvement in athletics and extracurricular activities.
School spirit was on full display throughout the game, culminating in an exciting halftime celebration. The Division Avenue Marching Band, cheerleaders and kickline team energized the crowd with energetic performances before members of the Homecoming Court were introduced. The celebration continued with the crowning of the 2026 Homecoming King and Queen, one of the school's most anticipated traditions.
The Dragons capped off the memorable evening with an impressive 48-7 victory over Glen Cove, giving the home crowd even more reason to celebrate.
Homecoming provided an opportunity for the Levittown community to come together and celebrate the pride, traditions and connections that make the district special. From the parade and senior recognition ceremony to the halftime festivities and football victory, the event showcased the spirit, enthusiasm and sense of community that define Division Avenue.
