'Dot Day' Celebrates Students' Creativity At Gardiners Avenue Elementary School
Students at Gardiners Avenue Elementary School celebrated Dot Day on Sept. 15 with art teacher Alyssa Arndt.
Shirts, posters, projects and hallways were decorated with hundreds of vibrant dots at Gardiners Avenue Elementary School in the Levittown School District on Sept. 15, as students and staff celebrated the return of Dot Day.
Celebrated each year in Gardiners Avenue and across Levittown Schools, Dot Day, inspired by the children's book "The Dot" by Peter H. Reynolds, celebrates students' creativity, individuality and the power of making a mark. As part of the celebration, each student designed and decorated their own unique dot signed with their name. The finished creations were brought together in a large display outside the school's art room, creating a bright and colorful showcase of students' creativity.
The display highlights how each student's individual contribution can come together to create something meaningful as a community. Dot Day provided students with an opportunity to express themselves through art while celebrating the idea that everyone can make their own special mark.
