Northside School Students "Make Their Mark" on International DOT Day

September 22, 2026

Northside School Students "Make Their Mark" on International DOT Day - image007 Northside School celebrated International Dot Day on September 15 with a school-wide celebration of creativity, courage and collaboration inspired by Peter H. Reynolds' book The Dot. Special area teachers joined together to create an inclusive experience where students practiced pitching skills by throwing paint-filled balls at a collaborative mural, explored careers that make a difference in the community, learned and sang the Dot Day Song, and added their own creative marks to an interactive Dot Day Room installation. Throughout the day, students learned that sometimes the hardest part is simply getting started and that one small mark can lead to something extraordinary. Many students also designed and proudly wore their own homemade Dot Day shirts to celebrate. The event gave every Northside student an opportunity to "make their mark" while beginning the new school year with creativity, cooperation and confidence.
