During the month of May, Ms. Borst's third graders learned about the life cycle of animals. As a fun culminating activity, students had the opportunity to watch caterpillars go through the stages of its life cycle. They learned about metamorphosis and how caterpillars go through major body changes in order to transform into a butterfly. Students were amazed to watch the growth/changes. Once the butterflies emerged from their chrysalises, they set them free. Students continue to learn about different insect/animal life cycles and compare them to the life cycle of a butterfly!
