Middle Schoolers Face Off In E-Sports Competition At Salk
The Jonas E. Salk Middle School campus was buzzing with excitement as students competed in the school's first-ever E-Sports Competition, bringing together some of the top student gamers from across the district for an unforgettable day of competition, teamwork, and school spirit. Students from Wisdom Lane, Merrick Avenue, Grand Avenue, and Jonas E. Salk faced off in an action-packed Super Smash Brothers tournament that showcased not only their gaming skills, but also their sportsmanship, strategy, and enthusiasm throughout the event.
The competition created an electric atmosphere as students cheered on their classmates, formed new friendships, and experienced the growing world of scholastic E-Sports firsthand. From intense matchups to exciting comeback victories, the event was filled with energy and excitement from start to finish. It was truly incredible to see students from all four schools come together in such a positive and engaging environment.
A very special thank you goes out to Dr. Leigh Rust, whose vision and dedication were instrumental in making this event a tremendous success. His efforts helped create an innovative experience for students that highlighted the many ways schools can connect with students through shared interests. Jonas E. Salk is proud to have hosted this inaugural event and looks forward to growing the E-Sports program and competition opportunities for students in the future.
