Last week, we were delighted to welcome back former student Alex Gao, Abbey Lane Class of 2017, who is currently a cadet at the United States Military Academy West Point.

As part of his coursework, Alex spent the day with our 5th-grade students, focusing on the core values of respect, leadership, and civic-mindedness. Through a "respect web" activity, students generated many ideas on treating others with kindness. They also brainstormed ways the 5th grade can make a tangible difference in our community this year. Alex also took time to visit and thank his former Abbey teachers.

We are incredibly proud of Alex and look forward to watching him achieve great things!
