Wisdom Lane Middle School Recognized As AMLE School of Distinction
We are thrilled to announce that Wisdom Lane Middle School has been recognized as a 2025 School of Distinction by the Association for Middle Level Education (AMLE).
The AMLE Schools of Distinction program honors schools that exemplify best practices in middle level education while guiding them through a strategic vision-setting process to drive continuous improvement.
Wisdom Lane earned this prestigious honor through a rigorous review that included a comprehensive school-wide assessment, continuous improvement planning, and stakeholder interviews. As a 2025 School of Distinction, Wisdom Lane joins a select network of exemplary middle schools nationwide. Levittown is proud to be only the fourth district on Long Island to receive this national distinction.
This milestone adds to a record of excellence across our schools. Wisdom Lane now holds national recognition for middle level education, and Salk Middle School was re-designated in 2023 as a New York State Essential Elements Middle School to Watch, reflecting high-quality programs and strong student outcomes at both middle schools.
Our high schools continue to earn recognition as well. MacArthur High School and Division Avenue High School have once again been named among the "Best High Schools" by U.S. News & World Report. This distinction is based on measures such as state assessment performance, graduation rates, and college readiness indicators including Advanced Placement participation and achievement. Earning a place on this list puts both schools among the top-performing high schools in the nation, underscoring their ability to meet rigorous standards year after year.
