Sixth Graders Make First Steps Of Middle School Journey At Salk
Volunteers helped ensure a smooth start to the school year for sixth graders. The newest class of students were welcomed at Jonas E. Salk Middle School in the Levittown Public School District on Aug. 23 and 24.
Graduates from Gardiners Avenue, Lee Road, Abbey Lane and East Broadway elementary schools gathered to learn the basics and get oriented for the year ahead. Sixth graders were led on a tour of the building by eighth grade student volunteers before receiving their student IDs and locks for their lockers. In the auditorium, volunteers and Salk staff and administrators helped them put in the right combination so each student could secure their locker. These important first steps help ensure a smooth start to school on Sept. 5.
Sixth grader Connor Schneider spun his new lock towards the right combination with the help of Jonas E. Salk Middle School Principal John Zampaglione.
Each sixth grader received their lock and found their locker.
