On Thursday, May 26th a group of MacArthur High School seniors came to Gardiners Avenue to read with classes in kindergarten, first, and second grade. The students in Ms. Manzi's class enjoyed the beautiful spring weather outside while they were treated to original stories written and told by the Macarthur students. Each set of high schoolers was paired with a group of 5-6 students for stories and a movement activity before they rotated to another group. This was a wonderful opportunity for our second graders to interact with the high schoolers and ask questions about the writing process they used to create their stories as well as what life is like as a senior at MacArthur. We had such a fantastic time, we may just have to write some stories of our own!
