Janet enlisted in the US Air Force immediately following graduation where she worked in the base hospital for the majority of her service. At the completion of her service she attended the University of Houston as well as the State University of Austin followed by Temple University. She attended the residency program at Scott White Hospital where she was offered a fellowship in Pathology and Therapeutics as well as asked to remain. She further attended Texas A&M and graduated from there with an MD in Pathology. Janet then went on to Hoag Memorial Hospital System in Newport CA where she worked for 17 years as a Senior Pathologist. She has gone on to writing papers for pathology magazines, schools and hospitals.
