December Fun With Summit Lane's Kindergarten
Summit Lane's kindergarten classes were very busy during the month of December. The children "boarded" Summit Air to travel around the world. The children learned about the different continents, their countries and the customs celebrated in each country. The classes used a team teaching approach in order to work on this engaging project.
The children "traveled" twice a week. For a total of 6 countries plus the North Pole! The children were given boarding passes and passports in order to travel. They visited Australia, Israel, Holland, Germany, India, the United States of America and finally the North Pole. The children learned about each country's flag and their holiday customs.
The project culminated with a final trip to the North Pole to give Santa's elves all the information we had learned throughout our travels. The children loved carrying their "suitcases" with them to each country and keeping the artifacts after each lesson.
The children also enjoyed a fun Polar Express Pajama Day. The children participated in fun activities, a visit by Santa and enjoyed a yummy snack of chocolate milk and cookies. The children enjoyed all the fun activities while they were busy learning about the world we live in!
