Twenty-six fourth graders from throughout the district participated in the Nassau Music Educators Association's All-County P.E.A.K. Music Festival on Nov. 16 at Freeport High School. The annual P.E.A.K. festival, which stands for Parents, Educators And Kids, invites select fourth grade musicians from across Nassau County to attend music workshops with their teachers and parents.
Prior to the event, students selected the workshops that they were interested in attending at the festival. One of the sessions was designated for a sectional rehearsal for the chorus who performed at the end of the day. The song that was chosen had been given to all the music teachers prior to the festival to work on with their students.
