Perry Outreach Program Accepts MacArthur's Isabella Molina
Recently, MacArthur science research sophomore, Isabella Molina, applied and was selected to attend the Perry Outreach Program at the Hospital for Special Surgeries in Manhattan. The program is designed to introduce women to the orthopedic and engineering fields. Isabella spent a weekend performing mock surgeries participating in various activities related to orthopedics and engineering. For example, she performed a mock surgery on an ACL tear, and she learned how to complete a running suture on an incision made on a pig's foot. Isabella said, "Participating in the Perry Outreach Program has provided me with the foundation and encouragement to move forward in the exciting world of orthopedics."
