Division Avenue High School Announces Homecoming 2017
The Levittown School District invites friends, families and community members to join in Division Avenue High School's annual homecoming festivities on Oct. 14. The Blue Dragons will play the Plainedge High School Red Devils during the school's big football game that evening.
To kick off the festivities, the school will showcase their spirit with a parade at 2 p.m. starting from Wisdom Lane Middle School and ending at Division Avenue High School. The parade will feature Division Avenue freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors, high school marching band, Wisdom Lane marching band, homecoming court, kickline and the cheerleading team.
Following the parade, a special flower ceremony to honor the senior athletes will be conducted at 2:45 p.m. on the football field. Prior to the beginning of the big game, the Levittown School's District's inaugural Hall of Fame will induct six Levittown alumni who have made an impact on the community and beyond.
Inductees will include Levittown Memorial High School graduates, songwriter Ellie Greenwich, former town supervisor Kate Murray, coach Doug Robins and fireman Kevin McKinney. Two Division Avenue High School graduates, New York State Supreme Court Justice Thomas Feinman and town councilman Dennis Dune Sr., will also be recognized as Hall of Famers.
The kickoff will begin at 5 p.m. and feature a variety of concession stands including food, apparel, face painting and more. In addition, half time will include the homecoming court and king and queen crowning. Attendees will also enjoy performances by the cheerleading team, kickline and marching band.
