Frequently Asked Questions

What do I do if I have problems with the computer in my room?

  • Check to see if the surge protector/electricity is working.
  • Check that all plugs are in.
  • Contact your buildings Computer Teaching Assistant.
  • The problem will receive a "Call Log" number to be tracked.

Why can't I "log on" to my computer?

  • Check that the " User Name" is correct. Ex. Your first initial and the first 7 letters of your last name.
  • Check that you are typing in your Password properly. (check the caps lock)
  • Contact your buildings Computer Teaching Assistant.
  • Check the "Domain Name"

How do I save a file?

  • Go to the "File" menu.
  • Go down to and click on "Save As" (a window will appear).
  • At the top of the window it will say "Save In". Click onto the arrow at the end of the "Save In" window and choose "My Documents".
  • At the bottom of the window, it will say "File Name". Type in a name for the document you wish to save.
  • After naming your file, click "Save".

What does it mean when I try to get on the Internet and I get the message "Page can not be found"?

  • This does not necessarily mean the Internet is down. Either the site you wish to reach is temporarily down or you should verify and retype in the address of the site you wish to reach.
  • You can double check by typing in the address of a different site.
