The primary goal of the Levittown Public Schools is succinctly stated in its mission statement, Success for Every Student. This is a broad statement, which has served the students of the Levittown community for almost two decades. The commitment of the Levittown Public Schools to higher standards of academic achievement for all students is a tradition that has been steadfastly maintained year in and year out by Levittown’s Boards of Education, parents, administration, teachers, students and residents at large.

Levittown’s long term commitment to higher standards of student learning has transformed the Levittown Public Schools into one of the highest achieving school districts in Nassau County, in the state of New York, and throughout the country. Currently, the Levittown students consistently achieve at or above Nassau County averages on New York State’s measures of achievement. Levittown’s standing at or above the Nassau County average is particularly impressive since Nassau County maintains among the highest student achievement throughout the United States and the western world.

Within the past twenty years, students in the Levittown schools have doubled and even tripled their performance on measures of educational quality such as enrollments in Regents level courses and AP level courses, Regents diploma rates, and rates of college attendance. Today, over 90% of Levittown students go on to higher education, up to 80% earn Regents diplomas under the old and more rigorous standards, while 94% earn Regents diplomas under the new Regents standards.

While these statistics may be impressive on a collective basis, they are even more impressive when we realize the growing impact that the quality of education in the Levittown School District has had on the lives of individual students in recent years. For example, a child attending the Levittown Public Schools today is two to three times more likely to attend college as he or she would have been fifteen years ago.

With the dedication of parents, support of community residents, and the steadfast diligence of the school Board and its personnel, the Levittown Public School provides Success for Every Student, not only in school, but throughout life as well.
